In a game that went down to the wire, Casademont Zaragoza snatched an 86-85 road win over the newcomer Pszczolka Start Lublin in Group D of the Basketball Champions League.
It was 68-66 for the home side early on in the fourth quarter when they put on a 9-0 run to go up by 11 points (77-66), however, Zaragoza got back into the game and tied it at 79 after Jonathan Barreiro’s triple.blob:https://sneakershoptalk.com/225ae9f1-7b84-4f0f-a7d5-2a8c74f15996
Martins Laksa banked his third shot from deep which, followed by Lester Medford’s two free throws, put Lublin up by 84-80 with 11 seconds left but, once again, the Spaniards didn’t let go. Luka Rupnik made three free throws and in Zaragoza’s following offense, dished an assist to DJ Seeley who sealed the fate of Start Lublin with a three-pointer.
Seeley finished the game with six points while Nicolas Brussino was leading the way with 21 points followed by Dylan Ennis with 17 and Jason Thompson with 13. Rupnik scored 11.
For Start Lublin, Laksa finished with 17 points while Sherron Dorsey-Walker and Joshua Sharma scored ten each with the latter scoring six in the fourth quarter before fouling out. Medford also scored ten points while dishing nine assists as well.
For Zaragoza, Nicolas Brussino banked game-high 21 points in addition to Dylan Ennis’ 17 and Jason Thompson‘s 13 points.
